AUGEN Field trip and conference 2026

Northern Tasmania

November 15-17 2026

Join us for a three-day field trip and conference in Tasmania

This event will provide ideal opportunities for participants to meet other geoscience educators, to share teaching ideas, and to discuss trends and issues in geoscience education.

The focus of this meeting will be field-based geological education and each day we will visit outstanding exposures of diverse Mesoproterozoic to Recent geological features along the coast of Northern Tasmania.

In the field we will collectively explore and discuss strategies and methods to optimise hands-on student learning experiences.

All participants will be staying together in camp-style accommodation near Ulverstone to facilitate effective interaction and communication.

Evening activities will include short presentations to share recent educational initiatives followed by more general discussions on geoscience education issues.
